Use the GD-10 ERT electrical instrument to investigate the foundation near a temple. Use the 2D ERT profile method for the profile and surface of the tower and surroundings.. As the ERT method explores the relatively shallow depth, and have a high definition, it can detect the substrate interface and depth by observing the resistivity of the change interface….. 1) Interpretation of results
The surface of the measuring line is generally of high resistivity to reflect the base of the building. From measuring lines 1 to 6 and the high-resistivity conversion zone 0 to 1.2m deep of the surface, it can be concluded that the non-conductivity of the building structure’s stone materials lead to the rated high-resistivity reaction. The stable layer is often put beneath the basal layer before the building construction. In the ERT resistivity profile, there is an obvious horizontal boundary between the high and low resistivity at 1.5 m and it can be deduced that the boundary is the target building base of the investigation.
According to the inversion results, It’s clear that there is an obvious boundary between the high and low resistivity at about 1.5 m. So, it is inferred that the area is the basement of the temple. The low resistivity is quaternary. The GD10 can accurately display the stratigraphic texture of the temple foundation and illuminate the depth of the base.
